BE
FREE
“Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand!
Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.”
Galatians 5:1 (MSG)
If you had to make a choice, would you choose to…
”BE FREE”?
Free from the past. Free from shortcomings. Free from failures, worry, and people and circumstances that have hurt you.
YOU CAN “BE FREE”!
WHAT IS “BE FREE”?
“Be Free” is a small group, deliverance curriculum that helps people, through discipleship, to find freedom from their past, develop a passionate relationship with Jesus, and find an expression of their purpose that they might strengthen the local church. “Be Free” is dedicated to equipping believers to victoriously wage spiritual warfare, experience personal cleansing, and minister freedom to others.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I JOIN A “BE FREE” SMALL GROUP?
Over the course of 15 weeks, you will focus on eight areas of personal growth:
Living in the Tree of Life
The Bible speaks of two trees in the Garden of Eden. There is much insight about the life-giving approach to the Christian experience versus dead religion. This wisdom can be gained from studying the details of the first sin and the difference between the two trees.
Walking in the Spirit
God tells us to walk In the Spirit. Unfortunately, our shortcomings, failures, sins, and hurts can make the thought of such a command overwhelming. Nevertheless, He would not have instructed us to walk in the Spirit if He hadn’t given us the grace and power to do so. God’s word teaches us how to live with our “spirit man” in charge of our mind, will, emotions, and body.
Soul Care / Spiritual Formation
Spiritual formation is the process of spiritual maturation from the time of regeneration to the time of glorification. It is the transforming of the human spirit by the Holy Spirit. The problem of spiritual maturity/vitality in the church is a lack of understanding (and therefore a lack of engagement with) the transformational resources available in Jesus Christ through His Spirit.
Soul Care / Spiritual Formation Part 2
Spiritual formation is the process of spiritual maturation from the time of regeneration to the time of glorification. It is the transforming of the human spirit by the Holy Spirit. The problem of spiritual maturity/vitality in the church is a lack of understanding (and therefore a lack of engagement with) the transformational resources available in Jesus Christ through His Spirit.
Becoming a Vessel God Can
Use
We know that when we confess and repent of our sin, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. However, many believers are unaware that demonic forces can gain footholds when we allow sin to reign in our lives. We repent of sin and cast off the powers of darkness that have influenced us so we can become vessels of honor ready for the master’s use.
Learning to Speak Words of Life
The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Words can be encouraging, or words can curse. We can break the power of negative words that have been spoken over us and words of death that we have spoken ourselves. God’s word is living and active, and we can learn to use it to advance His Kingdom.
Living as a Worshipper
Maintaining a life walking in the Spirit, surrendering ourselves to the Lord, speaking words of life, and walking in purity, requires us to be worshippers in spirit and in truth. We worship God through our adoration and our praise, but also through our obedience to Him.
Surrendering our Lives to the Lord
God calls us to be a people whose love for Him supersedes all other desires and goals. He must be Lord of our lives so that we may grow in our purpose and receive His blessings.
The Dark night of the Soul
The Dark Night of the Soul is among the stages and seasons of spiritual development in which we come to rely fully on God, His grace and His strength in our lives.
